Your cousin is a bonobo!

As I was riding the train, the other day and thinking on how self-absorbed and pitiful we humans are, I hit upon on an idea that would hopefully spark a bit of self-awareness in everyone. Monkey masks and t-shirts with messages along the lines of "I love the make-love ape", "Your cousin is a bonobo!', "Make love like a bonobo", that sort of thing.
Imagine what you would think if you were riding the train or walking down the sidewalk and you passed a person or group of persons with normal appearance except that they were wearing monkey masks. I'm seriously considering donning a monkey mask for a day, just to see what type of reactions I would get. The thought of being considered a weirdo is the only thing that gives me cause for concern. By wearing a monkey mask, I would hope to get people to recognize that they are really not that different from the monkey or ape who wanders through the forest, eating, sleeping, socializing, and reproducing and the only thing that really sets us apart are all of these artificial constructions that alienate us from our very nature.
